Matt Reed Continues...
Some hunters get really jealous when another hunter harvests a big buck.
I have never understood that or ever been a jealous hunter. I think that is part of the reason I have been a successful hunter and outfitter. I enjoy seeing other hunters harvest big bucks and I especially like it when we have something to do with another hunter harvesting a monster. It is a great feeling when it all comes together! Over the past few years we’ve had a hand in many hunters taking some really nice bucks because of the hard work we put in and trying to put them in the best spot possible to take a trophy. I am usually the first person people call when someone harvests a monster because I love seeing the excitement. My friend took a 188 inch 9 pointer several years ago and I videoed the tracking of it until we walked up on the giant. You want to talk about excitement, it was a true monster! Less than 3 weeks later I harvested the biggest buck of my life, a 210 inch giant with a big drop tine. These bucks were taken within 5 miles of each other. I would love for one of my hunters to harvest a 200 incher!!! I know it will happen sooner or later.
Like I said earlier, this will be my 11h year being an outfitter.
My full time job is being a High School teacher. My passion and second full time job is dedicated to locating big whitetails for others to make a memory that lasts a lifetime. We work extremely hard 12 months of the year when it comes to locating big bucks and finding great properties. We will not over hunt a property for the sake of making more of a profit. Each property will have a limited amount of hunters and we will only offer 5 day bow hunts during bow season and limited amounts of shotgun and muzzle-loader hunts.
We are not experts in lodging or cooking and I have learned by going on outfitted hunts of my own that that has nothing to do with the quality of game you will see on a hunt.
Bottom line is, hunters are happy if they know they have an honest chance at taking a trophy of a lifetime. We will use all of our time, resources, and effort in locating big bucks and try to make that happen.
You are in great hands with Mark Brubaker running the operation now, so I can enjoy spending more time with my family. Mark will work tirelessly to try and get each hunter in the best position to harvest a trophy whitetail.
Good luck this season!
